After photographing weddings for 15 years, I’ve helped loads of couples with their wedding day timeline. Here is the basic template I give my clients. Some photographers may prefer more padding in certain areas but, this is what I’ve found works best for my laid back wedding photography style.

SAMPLE TIMELINE - MODERN (with first look)

2.00 - Photographer Arrives (Details: Jewelry, Invites, Shoes, Dress, etc)

2.30 - Bridesmaids & Mom gets dressed

3.00 - Bride gets Dressed

3.30 - Whole Bridal Party

4.00 - Bride + Groom

3.30 - More Bride + Groom or Chill/Overflow Time

4.00 - Family

4.30 - Tuck - a - Way Time

5.30 - Ceremony Start

6.00 / 6.30 (if travel) - Reception Entrance / Dinner

7.30 - Cake, Toasts 

8.00 - First Dance, Dad/Daughter Dance, Mom/Son Dance

8.30 - Anniversary Dance / Dollar Dance / Open Dancing

9.00 - Bouquet / Garter

10.00 - Photographer Leaves
